We finally are using the first hydroponic system that we built last Summer. It is made of 4" pvc drain pipe. The planters are net pots filled with hydroton (clay pebbles). The water and nutrients are pumped from a container below. The pump is on a timer that drips the solution into the pots every 3 hours for 5 minutes. We are currently growing red beans.
